Hurricane Awareness

Garage doors installed before 2010 do not meet the current Florida Building Code.  Pinellas County and south Pasco County require garage doors to meet 145 MPH wind speeds.  After Hurricane Helene in 2024, some beaches are requiring even higher pressures than the building code requirements.

2010 was also the first time impact rated garage doors were available.  Most insurance companies are now requiring replacement doors to be impact rated to give you insurance discounts.
